I’ve been asked many times over the years about an individual wanting to check in on how someone is doing and they aren’t sure what to say. They don’t want to say the wrong thing, but don’t know what the right thing to say is either. My answer is still the same, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy or super emotional. A simple “Hi, I’ve been thinking about you, hope things are well!” or even a “Hey, how are you?” will do.
It can do wonders to receive a message from a friend, just to know someone is thinking of you. I had a rough day on Monday, tweeted about it and a friend reached out to me. Reading her message of love and support brightened my dark, gloomy day.
Life can be so busy that we often forget to show others some gratitude and love. There will be days, I’m at work and just randomly text a friend saying “Hi, I love you. Just wanted you to know.”
So, send that friend you haven’t spoken to in a while a message. Heck, you don’t even have to consider them to be a close friend. You don’t need to go into great detail about your life…but a simple hello can change someone’s entire day or even their life.
